# Import from Vaultier

Hi,

I currently use Vaultier hosted on my own server to keep all my passwords secure but as it’s no longer updated, I came across Passbolt and was wondering if there’s any possibility of being able to import the passwords from Vaultier to Passbolt?

@matt yes we could add this, do you have an example of file generated by vaultier or a description of the file format?

Hi Remy,

Unfortunately there isn’t any way to export files from Vaultier but it does get saved into a database which are encrypted, I believe having raw access to the database will only give the encryption hashes.

Not too sure if this is helpful or not?

I’m not sure, but I suspect there is probably a way to extract and decrypt the data if we know the encryption system used. Considering the software is open source it should be workable. To be honest there is so much work to do, so unless there is big demand from the community it won’t get done.
