**Q1. What is the problem that you are trying to solve?** Enhance TOTP feature by introducing auto-detection and auto-fill, reducing manual input and improving UX. **Q2 - Who is impacted?** All users utilizing TOTP for security will benefit, especially those who access their accounts frequently, improving their overall experience. **Q3 - Why is it important and/or urgent?** This improvement is important for efficiency and user convenience, further solidifying Passbolt as a user-friendly, secure password management tool. **Q4 - What is your proposed solution? (optional)** Implement an auto-fill feature for the TOTP field in Passbolt. It should automatically detect, populate the TOTP field and submit the form, streamlining the login process. **Q5. Critical to have. 3 extra clicks to fill TOTP. Autofill or automatic on clipboard, both OK. ---

trying out migration from KeePassXC, and ironically, it provides a smoother UI and supports TOTP autofill… ---

This would save so much time 😭 As a user the worst case user journey is if you are on a site that uses their own single sign on, and you are on a different domain that is tied to your saved passbolt credentials. As it is an organisation based sign on, you first have to auto fill your email, then click next on the website, then auto fill password, then click next on the website, then for MFA, you then have to go up to the Passbolt extension widget, search for your credential, click the arrow, copy TOTP, then paste, then click next and then you are in. Include page loading times, and doing this each time your login token expires - that time adds up monthly! ---

I’d love to contribute this feature myself given this would vastly improve my day-to-day experience. * * * I’m not experienced with browser extensions and would need some pointers (“look at this repo/directory”) to start productively. It seemed like creating issues to discuss a proposal (anything other than bug reports) is discouraged on [the extension repo](https://github.com/passbolt/passbolt_browser_extension), but I’d like to give a hand in the development of this anyway. ---

I’m considering migrating all my passwords and authentication to Passbolt. The reason I am still hesitating is that this feature hasn’t been implemented yet. Without a clear roadmap, I might not be willing to invest too much sunk cost at this point. ---

I see the last update was October 2025. I just want to check that this issue is still “open” as I see that the TOTP will autofill if I click the “use on this page” button from the addon, but will not autofill if I select the details from the dropdown that appears when one clicks the red-key inside a form field. #### Edit I just realized that it will autofill from selecting from dropdown, but only if I individually click on that field. If I have the username/password and TOTP all on one form page, then it will only autofill the username/password, and I have to seperately click the TOTP field to fill that one in. It would be nice if they were all connected. ---

Apologies for bumping this. Just wanted to say a huge thank you for rolling this one out. It has been a huge success on speeding up login!
