Hello everybody, it seems that Chrome extension version 5.14.2 is ignoring the PASSBOLT\_PLUGINS\_IN\_FORM\_INTEGRATION\_ENABLED=false setting in env, since I saw the passbolt icon reappear in forms all of a sudden, while version 5.13.4 installed in Edge and Firefox is OK.
Does anyone of you experience a similar behaviour?

TIA

Hello @stefano.d and welcome to the forum!

I tried to reproduce the issue on my side and I could do it yes. Edge and Firefox are probably on the version 5.13.X still which would explain the situation.

I proposed a fixed on the API side as it as missing a type conversion as a consequence with some recent changes on the browser extension, it always interpret the value as if you put “true” instead.

The reference of the issue is PB-53457. We’ll keep you posted when the fix is published.

Meanwhile, if it’s annoying for you and if you have access to your server configuration (the file `passbolt.php` or `app.php`) I can guide you to apply the proper value.

Hello @Steph many thanks for your quick reply. MS Edge extension got auto-updated to 5.14.2 in the meantime so it is now aligned to Chrome and it suffers the very same issue. Actually the real thing that’s annoying me is people asking to revert to the previous behaviour, so yes, please, I’d be glad to hear your suggestions.

Thanks again,

Stefano.

The idea is to make sure the environment variable is interpreted the way it should.
For that, we can modify the file `passbolt.php` on you server that should be located et `/etc/passbolt/`.

In it, there is a structure of data where you need to insert the fix:

You should find a section `'passbolt'` then `'plugins'` etc like:

```auto
return [
   'passbolt' => [
       'plugins' => [
            'inFormIntegration' => [
               'enabled' => filter_var(env('PASSBOLT_PLUGINS_IN_FORM_INTEGRATION_ENABLED', false), FILTER_VALIDATE_BOOLEAN),
            ],
        ],
   ],
]
```

Depending on your configuration the `'plugins'` section may not be present and you will need to add it (basically copy pasting what I gave).

The structure of the file should look like what you have on this page
[https://www.passbolt.com/docs/hosting/environment-reference/#passboltphp-configuration](https://www.passbolt.com/docs/hosting/environment-reference/#passboltphp-configuration)

Pay attention to the `,` between the sections, it’s important to have them.

Also be careful, if the syntax of the file is not correct, your server will be down until it’s fixed.
[EDIT]: another important point, the settings is cached on the extension until you sign out. So, to see the changes applied on the extension, you will need to sign out and sign in again

This should be fixed in the incoming v5.14.3 for information
