# Setup email for dockerized passbolt

where is the instructions for how to setup dockerized passbolt with the ability to send out emails?

I assume there is something I need to do that isnt covered in [these instructions](https://help.passbolt.com/hosting/install/ce/docker.html) since this is the output when I try to send a test email

Hi @csss_admin,

You would have to have a local mail server installed, like sendmail or postfix, etc.

Most would sign in to a remote mail server using a remote ip address and port 587. Like [https://support.google.com/a/answer/176600?hl=en](https://support.google.com/a/answer/176600?hl=en)

Beyond that it is not a Passbolt app issue, really.
