Title: Improve first-time account activation on mobile
Passbolt is an excellent password manager, but the initial onboarding experience is difficult for users who start from a mobile device.
Today, when a user opens an invitation link on Android or iOS, they are asked to install a browser extension, which is impossible in most mobile browsers. The page does not clearly explain that the initial account activation must currently be completed on a desktop browser.
It would greatly improve the user experience if the mobile flow:
detected that the user is on a mobile device,
clearly explained why desktop activation is currently required,
or, ideally, supported full first-time account activation directly from the official mobile app.
In 2026 many users are mobile-first, so requiring a desktop computer for the initial setup is an unnecessary barrier to adoption.
