As a user my password is cleared from clipboard after use

Q1. What is the problem that you are trying to solve?
When copying a password, the password stays in the clipboard untill overwritten

Q2 - Who is impacted?
Any user copying a password from the list.

Q3 - Why is it important and/or urgent?
This can help with making sure that in certain cases the clipboard is read out, it will have a possible security issue.

Q4 - What is your proposed solution? (optional)
This can have different solutions, or a combination.

  • Auto clear the clipboard after x amount of minutes; keeping track of clipboard changes so it only will do it if the password is still there
  • Auto clear the clipboard on closing the browser/program/extention; keeping track of clipboard changes so it only will do it if the password is still there
  • Option to manually clear the clipboard (e.g. extra button; clear clipboard)

Q5 - Community poll

  • :ok_woman: Must have: this is critical for me to have this
  • :raising_hand_woman: Should have: this is important for me to have this
  • :tipping_hand_woman: Could have: this could be nice to have
  • :no_good_woman: Won’t have: we should not schedule this (explain why)

I would be pleased to have this feature. We recently migrated from Keepass and it was normal and I miss it. We often use Teamviewer (and other programs) to log in to colleagues - or they log in to our PCs - and so there is a risk that someone can grab the password.

@hen Yes we agree this makes sense.

Hi @remy,

any news on that feature?

Hello @cunnect , thanks for sharing your interest regarding this feature.

Unfortunately, with all the focus that requested MV3, the implementation of this feature shifted, it is currently in investigation status.

Best regards

MAybe its not that easy to implement for the browser plugin but it should definitely work for the Windows Desktop Application. Would be awesome
