As a user of the browser extension I want to search for passwords in specific folders

Q1. What is the problem that you are trying to solve?
We have one folder per customer. A lot of customers have similarly named passwords, e.g. “vSphere” logins. Searching for “customername vsphere” should only list that one entry in the folder containing “customername”.

Q2 - Who is impacted?
All users of Pro with many folders & similarly named entries using the browser extension

Q3 - Why is it important and/or urgent?
Searching only for “vsphere” is useless if there are so many results that you cannot easily see which one to pick. It’s not urgent as we have that functionality in the web UI.

Q4 - What is your proposed solution? (optional)
The browser extension’s search should work like the web UI’s search in that each search term is matched against the folder names, too.

Q5. Community support

  • :raising_hand_woman: Should have: this is important for me to have this
  • :tipping_hand_woman: Could have: this could be nice to have
  • :no_good_woman: Won’t have: we should not schedule this (explain why)

I was looking for something similar, maybe just adding the folder name (or full path) above the “Name (Username)“ string in the browse password list will do it. Regards, Juan.

This is also very important for our company.

Being able to search for a “client” (folder) in the folder column would be ideal for us. We have hundreds of clients, and several dozen of us are inconsistently saving credentials. Searching for credentials by name isn’t very user-friendly, and it would be much better if we could search in the folder column.

I know that if you search for the folder name, its credentials appear in the central panel, but it’s still not an acceptable solution because they all appear mixed together (even with the location column).

We rely heavily on the folder hierarchy, and we think it would be extremely useful to perform searches based on this hierarchy.

That’s right, we need a box where we can search for clients and then it takes us to the client’s record/profile. PLEASE, WE NEED A BOX FOR QUICK CLIENT SEARCH.

This is exactly the case we have ourselves. A search in the Web UI like “Customer1 vSphere” works quite well but not always perfectly. It would be great if we could filter "per customer” and have the same search behaviour in the browser extension, where folder names are ignored at the moment.
