As an admin I want to disable notifications for resource medadata change & keep notifications when secret changes

As a user I would like to not have edit notifications for cosmetic changes like change of icon

I want to systematize our passwords using icons and colors. However, if I start doing large number of changes for these attributes every single user will get notifications about every single change of the look of the password. This makes absolutely no sense. The email notification settings even explicitly says “When a password is updated, notify the users who have access to it”. Changing the “look” of a password is not really updating the password in most people’s minds.

Everyone who edit the appearance of passwords in a shared environment.

It’s a low-hanging fruit for usability improvement.

The easy solution is to not trigger notifications for icon or color edits. The second is to have separate notification settings for password content and password metadata.

Hello,

Since the metadata is encrypted it is not possible for the server to know if it was a change of icon, or username or url, etc.

I agree it would make sense to split the email notifications. Adjusting name accordingly.
