Can not create new passwords: button disabled

Hi,

I have used several years Passbolt CE and I like it. But now, few weeks ago I can not create new passwords any more. In browser the Create New button is grayed out and in plugin there is no Create New Password button any more. This is my own server and I am administrator in it. It seems like a feature (like password count limit), as I see no errors, but I could not find it in documentation or in forum. I add a picture of +Create button on web page.

Where should I look? I have upgraded Passbolt, upgraded OS, restarted browser, logged out and back in, searched in documentation and on FAQ and forum. I tried created a new folder and tried to create password there. I also tried to create password in other folders.

Hi, silly question but can you check the permission to the folder you are trying to create a password?
I don’t know if you are alone on that folder but it can explain why you can create passwords inside if you only have a read only permission.
Also maybe you can try to connect to your server and do a

sudo su -s /bin/bash -c "/usr/bin/share/php/passbolt/bin/cake passbolt cleanup" www-data

Hi, Thanks for helping!
I am the only user (admin), have created all the folders, I am the owner of folders. I also created a new folder and tried to create a password there. Probably not the folder problem.

passbolt cleanup fixed 3 errors. Might be because of update I did after the appearance of the problem. Did not help.

I forgot to add, that I can modify already created passwords.

I also can import passwords from a csv file (exported from google chrome). So I can create new passwords through importing csv files. Just +Create → New password is forbidden (grayed out).

I tried also to clear all the cache and cookies from the beginning of times. Passbolt asked me to log in again and asked OTP, but the problem is the same.

How do you comment it, that I can create new passwords using import, but not create new password.

Hi Raidok,
Do you have your recovery kit? Have you tried creating a new browser profile (or the alternate of Firefox/Chrome to whatever you’re using), installing the passbolt extension, and using the recovery kit?

Just a thought for a quick test you can do.

I had the same issue. In the Chrome browser was fine, but in the Firefox button “create” not active.
I just deleted cookies for passbolt domain, removed extension, then login and install extension again. Everything is fine right now.
