For a new project, we are looking for a multiusers, using multicomputers, centralized password management ! This is concerning an isolating group of users who will be able to log on any computers available within this group. They will also have no email within this environment… but all of them will have to access passbolt to retrieve credentials…
We are currently using the community edition on a different environment (with dedicated equipment and email) so we are not “limited” in that sense, but are wondering how passbolt would work in this new environment… any idea ?
For the “no email address for these users”, since Passbolt requires emails to work, you can use a workaround: that is using commands on the server, eg. generate setup links to skip the email validation step. The users will still have an email, but you can make something up. Not something we recommend doing but you can do that.
For the “multiuser, multi computer” there are several options.
each user have an account at the OS level, users can login with their personal account on any machine. You should have OS level ways of doing that, how to do that will depend on the OS. When they login on the machine, the browser profile with their passbolt configuration is loaded.
one OS user for everyone, one browser profiles per user: you can have still nominative accounts at the browser level, even if the machine account is shared.
shared os account and shared browser profile: this more risky.
shared everything, including passbolt account: even more.
What’s the number of users that will be participating in your setup? How much of OS level user / browser profile can you configure / make roam around?
