What’s in Passbolt 5.7.0?
Secret history
Secret history is now available for all resources. Each update to a secret generates a new encrypted revision, allowing users and admins to review or restore previous versions when needed.
Older versions are only accessible to users who had permission at the moment the revision was created. Administrators can also configure how many historical versions should be kept. Rollback flows cover changes in resource type as well (e.g., from password to a note), ensuring consistent recovery without creating invalid states.
Remove User from Group option
A new “Remove from group” action has been added to the user and group workspace. The previous “Delete” button caused confusion when admins only intended to remove a user from a group. The new action separates the two operations cleanly and moves account deletion into a secondary menu to reduce accidental misuse.
Action review filter
A new Attention Required filter helps administrators quickly identify users who need follow-ups such as accounts waiting for recovery approval or missing required metadata.
The filter only appears for admins and only when at least one user matches an attention state.
Categorised import summary
The import workflow now displays a categorised summary dialog. Successes, warnings, and errors are clearly separated, and detailed logs are included to help diagnose partial failures immediately. This replaces the previous ambiguous reporting and improves the reliability of bulk import operations.
Fixes & improvements
Passbolt 5.7 also includes several internal optimisations and bug fixes reported by the community.
-
Command Line Administration has been enhanced with new commands to List users, promote an administrator, and disable MFA.
-
Autofill reliability has been improved across more websites, with support for OVH and CryptPad. If you encounter a site where the autofill still fails, feel free to open a bug report so we can investigate.
-
User Directory sync (Pro): group membership synchronisation has been fixed for suspended users.
