New Release: v5.0.0 ~ Need To Feel Loved

v5.0.0 ~ Need To Feel Loved

Release date: 10 April, 2025

:musical_notes: Need To Feel Loved :musical_notes:

Passbolt v5.0.0 is released today.

This is the beginning of the 5.x releases and it comes with a new look of the application’s interface.

The redesigned workspace offers a cleaner layout. Filters have moved from the sidebar to the top of the resource grid, allowing for faster navigation and better visibility. Default icons now help you instantly recognize resource types, and bulk actions have become more manageable with the ability to review multiple selected items in a unified sidebar.

Version 5.0 also sets the stage for what’s next, laying the groundwork for features like encrypted metadata and support for new sensitive data types in the upcoming v5.x releases.

A heads up for system administrators:
Passbolt version 5.0 requires PHP 8.2 as the minimum PHP version, and it includes support for running on PHP 8.4 in production. Before upgrading, please ensure your server environment is ready. See the blog post on how to upgrade to PHP 8.2.

In case you are upgrading, we highly encourage you to backup your instances as this is a major release.
