Recovering passwords for a user who has left the company

Hello, we use Passbolt CE and we have the following problem:

The user leaves the company and has passwords that he/she did not share with anyone and are important for the process. How can we recover them?

The user forgot his/her login password. How can we register a new password for him/her?

How should we proceed in these situations?

Hi,

I have the same question, in fact i just had one user who forgot their password, Using CE because its very convenient, I was unable to help…..

I ended up delete the user account and sending a new registration invitation which was very frustrating.

Is there anyway to have this fixed? or if there is a method for CE to recover lost password, please enlighten us?

Thank you in advance!

I also find it very frustrating, because sometimes the user creates a personal folder where they store passwords that should be shared with everyone, then they forget their login password or are dismissed from the company and we lose all those passwords.
If only it were possible for the administrator to transfer all the passwords from that account to another, it would help a lot.
Another point that would help is if it were possible for administrators to define a folder for the user to save the passwords and remove the user’s permission not to create folders outside the folder provided by the administrator, so we could create a master user for the sector that would have access to all the user’s folders.

The paid version has an option to allow administrator account recovery.

It would be nice if this was in CE, but I understand they need to put some stuff behind the pay wall to generate revenue.

My work around is to create a folder for all new users and share ownership with our Backup user. Warn users they must use that folder otherwise if they get locked out of their account they will lose everything. Not perfect, but good enough compared to $5/user fee for Business license.
