URL Search query

As a user I can click on a link, so that password/secret is automatically added to search.

Q1. What is the problem that you are trying to solve?
I’m trying to link external systems to PassBolt. We have a CMDB system where you can easily add a button to every Device, which has a prefilled URL like this:

<a href="https://passbolt.example.com/search/?name=Router4">View passwords in Passbolt</a>

So in practice, user would click the button → passbolt would open and automatically input “Router4” into search bar and show all passwords/tags with name “Router4” in them.

Q2 - Who is impacted?
This would benefit any external software to “intergrate” into Passbolt without extensive plugins or major code to glue systems together.

Q3 - Why is it important and/or urgent?
Having low code solutions to intergrate with Passbolt drives usability and expands userbase, because you can then just quickly set up Passbolt and “integrate” it to any service. The less user has to do = better and faster.

Q4 - What is your proposed solution? (optional)
Have a simple URL where you can prefill a query.

Q5. Community support
People can vote for this idea to show traction:

  • :raising_hand_woman: Should have: this is important for me to have this
  • :tipping_hand_woman: Could have: this could be nice to have
  • :no_good_woman: Won’t have: we should not schedule this (explain why)
