What We'd Love to See in Passbolt 6

Having used Passbolt since version 1.6 we hope the next version might have some of these features and re-organization:

  1. Description and Notes fields. Notes encrypted with the same process as passwords, description searchable

  2. Unified, clear security organization for groups and folders (but this would require nested group functionality); otherwise, eliminate the sharing security interaction of folders. Leave folders for organization and groups for sharing access.

  3. A simplified Password entry dialog that includes the key fields and SHARING in one pane. Everything complicated (and optional) is on a secondary tab out of view except for those who might be looking for it.

  4. Enable the EXPORT function by user, group, and exportable flag on each Passbolt entry

  5. Ability to select personal opening view list (like favorites)

  6. An ARCHIVE function or INACTIVE/ACTIVE flag. There are good workarounds for this, but it would be nice to have a formalized structure

  7. Ability to create a system management, compliance or audit user that can be set globally or by group to be automatically be added to every new entry

  8. Copy entry function

Yea, especially the feature to copy (duplicate) an entry. That is what I am missing the most.

i would like the ability to send secure text or files to someone like Bitwarden has with its send.bitwarden.com.

its the only feature we use bitwarden for.

  • Make URI Schemas like ssh:// or autoit:// clickable
  • Resolve placeholders like ${username}, ${password}, ${custom_meta_key} in URI Fields if clicked

We use keepass for years now - and one of the most useful features (imho) is to be able to call external applications via the according password entry. This really saves a ton of time in daily business.

The ability to add multiple passbolt accounts/servers to the client and to be able to switch between them.
