Mobile App for passbolt

Any updates on this? Also, will it be available on community/self-hosted servers as well?

@danialsh there will be an announcement when itā€™s ready. Most likely in June. It will be available for everyone for free.

@remy any news on this? is there a possibility to track the status of the development and test the beta version of the app if there is one?

Hi @lucas220700 we got some delays, we expect the first usable version by the end of the summer. We currently finished the key transfer mechanism using QR codes, moving on to login and more next week.

Here is a short video of how the process looks like on Android.

I found this app in the play store. Is this the passbolt test app? Is this legit? Is it safe?
I ask because there Is an .ru email address.

Hi @Roberts, this app is not the official passbolt app and also not open source (so therefore not safe to our standards). Passbolt mobile app is still under development and will be released most likely mid-october.

HI @remy ! Just doing a quick check in and seeing how progress is?

Do you need any beta testers as Iā€™d be happy to be one as well as a number of my team

Thanks!

Hi @steve4d,

We are currently doing the UAT of the mobile app for iOS, Android will start shortly. We still have a few kinks to iron, but it looks like weā€™re still on schedule for mid-october beta release. Weā€™ll post announcement on the forum as soon as there is something for the community to test (we donā€™t open it now to avoid having to triage reports we already know about). Security audit is scheduled for end of November.

Best,

Quick update. Weā€™re currently waiting for the appā€™s reviews on the different web stores and weā€™ll publish a blog article to explain how to test the mobile app. Bear with us as we jump through the reviews hoops.

Will it be possible to beta test the app with the cloud version of passbolt? Since the app is a mandatory thing for us to switch to passbolt, thereā€™s no self hosted instance running right now on our servers.

Whatever the answer will be. I am very excited to use the app soon (even if I have to set up a self hosted version on our managed server - will see how that works out since the installation manuals are all for servers with root access but I hope that itā€™s anyway possible for us)

Hi @taaz

We are waiting for the security audit results who is currently in progress before pushing the Mobile App to the cloud version, for security purposes.
We expect push a new release with Mobile App enabled in the coming days.

Stay tuned :call_me_hand:

Could someone confirm or deny if this application is the official android version of the app?

Hi @Caspar

Yes, I confirm this Android app is the official one.

Cheers,

I have tried to use the android app from the mobile store, but when I scan a QR Code it tells me ā€œSomething Went wrongā€.

@elleven if you have a self sign certificate, this is expected.
The next release of Android will allow the self-sign certificate
