Hi team,
I recently upgraded Passbolt to the latest Docker version.
As part of the process, I restored the database into a new Docker volume to keep the data.
After the migration, I noticed a strange behavior:
Whenever I go to “Users” → “Manage users & groups”, the page starts loading but never finishes.
During this time, the entire Passbolt web interface becomes unresponsive — I can’t navigate anywhere else, and it feels like the system hangs.
After a few minutes, the interface recovers and becomes usable again.
This problem did not happen in the old environment (the previous container and database worked normally).
Details of my setup:
- Passbolt Community Edition (latest Docker image)
- MariaDB database
- Environment variables configured in
.envfile - Using Gmail SMTP for email delivery
What I already tried:
- Restarting the container
- Clearing browser cache / trying different browsers
- Checking container logs (didn’t see obvious errors)
Symptoms:
- Click on “Manage users & groups”
- Loading spinner keeps spinning
- System becomes slow / almost hangs
- After some time, it recovers and becomes usable again
Has anyone else faced this after upgrading and restoring the database?
Any suggestions on what might cause this or how to debug?
Thanks a lot! ![]()
