As a logged in user, I should be able to duplicate an existing password

Q1. What is the problem that you are trying to solve?
Sometimes two passwords can have some similarities. It would save time to be able to duplicate a password rather than recreating it from scratch.

Q2 - Who is impacted?
All users of passbolt who need to create passwords.

Q3 - Why is it important and/or urgent?
Ease of use and productivity improvement is part of the product values.

Q4 - What is your proposed solution? (optional)

As a logged in user on the password workspace,
When I right click on a password
Then I should see a contextual menu
And I should see a “duplicate” item in the contextual menu
When I click on the “duplicate” item in the contextual menu
Then I should see a notification saying that the password has been duplicated
And I should see the duplicated password on the password workspace
And I should see that the duplicated password is named “initial name (copy)”

Q5. Community support

Bonus question: Should we keep share settings when duplicating?

Any news on this?
And no, I think the share settings should NOT be duplicated. Duplicated record is a new record, with filled in defaults (from the record we are duplicating). You could actually put a checkbox on a duplicate box for the share settings to be duplicated as well.

Same question as @mraspor.
But I think he had a little mix up in his comment. I think he meant, duplicate entries should get the share setting of the base folder and there should be perhaps a checkbox if the user want to duplicate the share setting aswell. In my opinion to make it easy and get it done quickly its enough to get the default share setting.

I at the moment port our Keepass DB to Passbolt CE and love it so far, but I really miss this basic password manager function to duplicate entries. Don’t know why this basic function isn’t implemented already.

Indeed, as @NF-EDV said, the entry should get the share settings of the directory it is in, and a checkbox if the entry’s share settings should be duplicated as well.

I really think this is a core functionality that is missing.

After I gave this a second thought it should be also possible to duplicate a folder branch to create a default folder pattern at the grasp of the admin everytime he needs it.
So its possible for an admin to create a new folder branch based on the default empty one.
Even better would be to implement a context option to copy only the folders structure on the selected treeview and to paste them whereever the admin want. Owner right could be at this kind of solution by default only the admin for the easy way or by standard the share/owner rights of the parent folder.
Probably I have to open a new proposal for this.
