Cannot setup passbolt 2.11 in Firefox 100

I’m having the same issue. I have the add-on working in Chrome without problem, but have just installed Firefox on my Mac, installed the add-on, and whenever I visit our internal Passbolt site it tells me I need the add-on.

This is a fresh install of Firefox with no other add-ons installed.

I have a Windows user who is also reporting the same problem where the add-on is not recognised in Firefox.

Hi @OrigamiPhil ,

Can you tell us more on your passbolt server setup ?

  • Operating system name and version
  • passbolt installation method and version

Thanks and regards,

Server OS: Ubuntu 16.04.6 LTS
Passbolt server version: 2.11.0 (not sure of installation method - it was installed before I joined the company).

Client info:
Client OS: macOS Monterey 12.3.1 (Intel i7)
Chrome browser: 101.0.4951.54
Chrome extension: 3.5.2 (works fine)
Firefox browser: 100.0
Firefox add-on: 3.5.2 (not recognised as being installed)

Thanks for the details.

Your problem is not Firefox but your passbolt server API who is too old, as @cedric said on another topic:

If you are running an API v2.x with the latest browser extension, this is an expected regression. The home page of the application has evolved and the legacy API v2.x home page doesn’t display the link to recover your account anymore.

You have 2 options:

You should consider to upgrade your passbolt server to a more recent and secure version.

Best,

Thanks for the info. I’ll take a look at it and see if upgrading helps.

As a workaround before upgrading, you can use /users/recover link
