Hi,
How i can export private key from a user forgot password? I using centos server . Do you script to export private key?

Hi @lvhaow,

You have two ways to make a backup of the private key:

  1. During the setup there is step to download the key

  2. When logged, one can go to their profile and download the keys

Thank for your support. After i checked , i cannot get private key for other user . Becase he was lost private key & cannot acccess to passbolt. How to i can get private key for other user ?

Hi @lvhaow, if a user has lost their private key unfortunately it is not possible for you to recover it.

But if i have access to root of linux. I am lost only recover key. but have other access…

I am lost all too?

Unfortunately, even if you have full root access on your passbolt server, you cannot recover encrypted passwords without the recovery kit (= your private key).

Data inside database in encrypted. The only way to decrypt data is with the private key.

You don’t have any computer with passbolt configured ? The private key is downloaded at your account setup, are you sure you cannot find any file called passbolt-recovery-kit in your download folder ?
