How to install with XAMPP

I’m looking for a tutorial on how I can try the open source software on Windows local host, maybe with XAMPP.

On my Plesk Ubuntu server I cannot install by SSH to avoid conflict so, I wanna test on local host then transfer by FTP.

Any advice on how I can do?
Once download and installed XAMPP I don’t know what steps follow to download and install passbolt, also never find nothing that helps here and on search engines.

Hi @o87 and welcome to passbolt community forum

You won’t be able to setup passbolt on XAMPP, as a Linux server is required to run passbolt.

If you want to give a try on your Windows machine, you have 2 possibilities:

• Setup WSL2 and follow our Ubuntu guide as WSL2 will setup Ubuntu as default. Ensure you are using Ubuntu 20.04 as Ubuntu 22.04 is not yet supported.
• Setup Docker Desktop and follow our Docker guide

You won’t be able to “transfer” passbolt files through FTP. Our recommendation is to install passbolt on a vanilla server without other software on it to avoid conflicts and for security.
If you want to host passbolt aside your plesk setup, maybe you should go for the docker install, to isolate passbolt.
