Logging in as www-data

I’ve recently installed Passbolt-CE using the Ubuntu 18.04 guide and script. Everything works great.

Now I am looking to install the latest version. I am following the update guide found here:
https://help.passbolt.com/hosting/update

I am at the point to run the migration script. It fails claiming that it should be run as www-data
www-data is a system account and shouldn’t have login credentials. Is there no other way to run the update than to give that account a password?

You can, as root run su -s /bin/bash www-data and you’ll be able to run commands as the apache user.
