Hi, I’m trying to setup Passbolt on my phone (Pixel6, Android 13) but I’ve a error message when I enter my passphrase : “Incorrect passphrase or decryption error”. The passphrase come from a keepass copy/paste…
Thank you for your help
Hi @Aurel and welcome to passbolt community forum
Some possible reasons:
- Your server and/or your phone are not synchronized with a time server, please check date and time
- Your passbolt server key contains multiple identities, you can check this with the gpg --show-keys /etc/passbolt/gpg/serverkey.asc command who should return only one email and fingerprint
On the other hand, if it doesn’t help, can you enable and post here your Android app debug logs, following this guide ?
Can you also give us:
- passbolt installation method and version
- operating system name and version
With best regards,
Thank you for your reply. One thing I didn’t mention sorry, I use Passbolt’s SAAS offer, it’s not an onprem server. I’m looking for to give you the requested elements
Hi @Aurel Thank you for being a customer!

Hi,
Thank you for your help, today I tried again and everything works perfectly, I was able to configure the mobile app without any problem.
Hi All,
I coming back to this topic because today it’s impossible to login into the mobile passbolt app on my Google Pixel 6. I tried to re install the app but always the same message : the credentials are invalid… I use the same on my browser and it works so I don’t understand what happened ?
Thank you for your help.
I launch the debug mode and I see a difference between device time and server time :
Server time is : 1679495698
Device time is :1679495700
is it in second ? I suppose Google setup correctly time server on their pixel ?
@Aurel Yes, seconds.
I think time on a device is first set by the time offered via the available network to which the device is connected. In the device Settings you should find Time options which may permit automatic syncing to be disabled if you want to experiment.
Hi garrett and thank you for your answer.
I just tried it and this time it worked without a problem. I didn’t change anything on the time settings and in the logs I don’t see the time server info anymore so I guess there has been a change but on which side? in any case it’s not very comforting to use passbolt in the long term on my smartphone…
@Aurel It might be something other than time that is causing this. That’s pretty frustrating for it to just stop working!
Is there by chance also a very slow connection to the server when this occurs? Have you noticed anything unusual while it happens? Are you on mobile data or wifi? If the network switching? Just brainstorming. Most users never experience it even once.
It’s sensitive to the time but shouldn’t be overly sensitive. Two seconds should be ok I would think.
Maybe someone else has additional things to suggest.
I have just tested this day it does not work again with the message “Credentials are invalid” ! can the passbolt support department help?
Thank you
