As a user, I want htpasswd basic auth pop-up boxes to have the passbolt autofill option

Q1. What is the problem that you are trying to solve?
Autofill works for every username/password field combination I have come across except for htpasswd basic auth popup boxes. I want to eliminate all Chrome saved passwords for users at my organisation, but this is impossible without this feature.

Q2 - Who is impacted?
People using development/internal environments where we use ht basic access authentication for simplicity.

Q3 - Why is it important and/or urgent?
We want to disable Chrome saving any passwords due to security issues, but this would require passwords to be memorised which is discouraged by best practice.

Q5. Community support
People can vote for this idea to show traction:

  • :ok_woman: Must have: this is critical for me to have this
  • :raising_hand_woman: Should have: this is important for me to have this
  • :tipping_hand_woman: Could have: this could be nice to have
  • :no_good_woman: Won’t have: we should not schedule this (explain why)

Would be a very pleasant feature indeed !
When I’m going to a page protected with basic authentication, the popup opens.
I need to close it, copy the password from Passbolt (fortunately mu usernames are short), refresh the page, paste the password, and fill the username.
If my username was hard, it would be even more difficult to do.

I put the link to another topic on the Passbolt forum talking about this feature : Htaccess credentials via passbold - #10 by androot

And also the Bitwarden commit that implements that feature :
